Kolob Arch Trail

This short, but moderately difficult trail leads one half mile north from La Verkin Creek Trail to a view point of Kolob Arch. It is approximately seven miles from Lee Pass to the beginning of Kolob Arch Trail. Permits for overnight use of this area are necessary and available at the Kolob Canyons Visitor Center.

The trail to Kolob Arch begins at an elevation of 5,525 feet and gains approximately 150 feet en route to the overlook. The route follows a small drainage that descends from the northern slopes of Gregory Butte. The trail ends at a confluence of three drainages at approximately 5,620 feet. Kolob Arch is one of the longest rock spans in the world. It vies with Landscape Arch in Arches National Park for largest-arch-in-the-world status.
