Join the Death Valley '49ers this November for the 61st Annual Encampment! During the park's most attended special event, thousands of participants come to celebrate the spirit of the 1849 gold rush wagon train that crossed Death Valley.

This five-day event, taking place November 10-14, 2010, includes old-time and western-style music, an Invitational Western Art Show, craft shows, cowboy poetry, and golf and horseshoe tournaments. There’s also a pioneer costume contest, 4X4 tours, wagon train and horse parades, community breakfasts and more. Entertainers include Chaparral, Dave Stamey, Sour Dough Slim and Kerry Christiansen. New this year is Belinda Gail, called America’s Western Sweetheart.” There are also a large variety of family-friendly events that take place during this time. Those who want to arrive early can participate in the Pre-Encampment, taking place November 7-9.
