Overview

Located in Western Kentucky, Ben HawesGolf Course and State Park offers opportunities for fun and education. On the park grounds are the remains of a deep coal mine operation that thrived from the early 1900s through the 1950s. Several buildings remain that can be reached by hiking trails. Park benches are conveniently located around the mine site. Along the wooded countryside of the park, there is an outdoor classroom where nature classes can be held.Located West of Owensboro, Ben Hawes Park offers opportunities for fun and education. Enjoy a little bit of the country on the one and half mile hiking trail through the park. Mountain Bike Trail - This trail is comprised of a series of three loops - three trails that interconnect equaling 4 miles - easy to moderate rating.

    The highlight of the park is the twenty- seven hole golf course.

  • Hiking

    Something for all skill levels, from easy open flowing log roads, more difficult double-track to very difficult singletrack. The state maintains approximately 5 miles of logging road and double-track while locals maintain the 5 miles of tight and technical singletrack. This multi-use, stacked loop network is open to hiking and cycling only. ATV and Horseback riding is prohibited
