Things To Do

This campground lies along the Middle Fork of the Powder River. To the south, the southernmost peaks of the Bighorn Mountains rise abruptly. Trout fishing is good here, and wildlife is attracted in quantity by the river. A fascinating quick trip is south on Arminto Road, just west of the campground to Butch Cassidy`s infamous Hole in a Wall, the canyon where he and the Wild Bunch sought refuge. Just 13-miles west of Buffalo, Wyoming, Middle Fork Campground is in a mountain setting adjacent to the Scenic Byway. Campground is next to the Middle Fork Clear Creek. Space is limited to no more than one or two 8'x10' tents. Facilities provided include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection and there are no showers. Popular activities around the campground are biking, hiking, climbing, picnicking, horseback riding, photographing, wildlife viewing, and many other recreational activities. Come visit this beautiful area, and camp in the midst of mountains.
