Gibson Park
Overview
Gibson Park offers the widest variety of amenities of any park in the system. Gibson Park offers: Beautiful Flower Gardens; Pond with waterfowl (ducks, geese, swans); Historic Vinegar Jones Cabin; Bandshell located in the center of the park; Walking path around park, excellent for bike riding, roller blading, walking, and running; Connects to the River's Edge Trail; Playground Equipment; Basketball Courts; Picnic Areas; Art -- Gibson Glass (stained glass display reflecting the park); City Band Concerts in the summer; Pond offers outdoor skating in winter months as safety allows; and statues: Statue of Paris Gibson 1928 (founder of Great Falls), Statue of Liberty Replica 1951; and a Statue of Captain John Mullan (surveyor who constructed the military road from Ft. Benton to Walla Walla, Washington in 1862)
