Devil's Hole State Park overlooks the Devil's Hole Rapids. The park has picnic areas, scenic overlooks and hiking trails, and is one of the more popular spots for fishing. A stone staircase leads down to the base of the gorge and the Devil's Hole Trail, which offers spectacular views of the rapids and gorge rock layers.

  • Fishing

    Devil's Hole State Park is a popular spots for fishermen. In fact the fishing here, especially for trout and salmon, is so spectacular, major fishing journals and television shows have called this one of the premiere freshwater fishing locations in the country.

  • Hiking

    A single stone stairway leads 300 feet down into Devil's Hole, connecting with the several mile long gorge trail that winds through Devil's Hole State Park. The trails are well established, but not labeled. Waterfowl and other migratory species also make a stop here to take advantage of the food and warmer waters below the dam, making this an excellent bird-watching location. The best seasons are in spring for large raptors and waterfowl and in autumn for more migratory species. The park is open year-round, though bathroom facilities are only available from mid-April through late October.

  • Picnicking

    Level lawns and scattered picnic tables overlook the tree-covered gorge, white water, and the massive power plant below. Restroom Facilities are available mid-April through late October, though the park itself is open year-round. Household pets only; caged or on a leash not more than 6 feet, are permitted in the park.

  • Winter Sports

    Nature trails wind through the park, allowing for excellent snowshoeing and cross country skiing paths during the wintertime. Trails are well established, but generally unmarked, so please be mindful of where you are going.
