Lake Murray State Park is Oklahoma's oldest and largest state park, consisting of 12,500 acres and located on the shores of beautiful Lake Murray. The park's diverse terrain, exceptional trails and historic sites, including the Tucker Tower Nature Center, make Lake Murray State Park a favorite destination among outdoor and water sports enthusiasts alike. Fishing, boating, and a variety of other water sports are enjoyed on the 5,728 surface acres of Lake Murray. Outdoor activities also abound at Lake Murray State Park including golfing, picnicking, camping, horseback riding, hayrides, hiking, biking, rollerblading, swimming, miniature golf and paddle boating. Sports facilities at Lake Murray State Park include an 18-hole golf course with a pro shop, tennis courts, softball fields, baseball diamond, horseshoe pits, badminton and volleyball nets.

The Lake Murray lodge, located within the park, offers visitors the opportunity to rent their own cabins or rooms in the lodge, and enjoy the lake's scenic beauty with all the comforts of modern living conditions. Alternatively, visitors to the park can also reserve one of the numerous RV and tent sites located throughout the park.

  • Boating

    Several boat ramps provide boaters of all varieties convenient access to Lake Murray. It is also a great lake for water skiing, wake boarding, jet skiing and more. In addition, the Lake Murray Marina offers covered boat slips up to 80 feet, as well as a certified Merc/Mercruiser and boat service center. Reservations are available for covered and open overnight tie-up slips. Pontoon boat rentals are also available year-round.

  • Bicycling

    Biking provides a quick and convenient way to get around the park.

  • Camping

    Nine RV campgrounds with over 300 RV sites and unlimited tent sites are located throughout Lake Murray State Park with full hookups, restrooms and showers.

    Lake Murray Lodge, located in the state park, offers 52 guest rooms and suites along with 56 cabins. The lodge also offers several meeting rooms, The Apple Bin restaurant, inviting lobby commons area with cozy fireplace, and The Parlor lounge which features food, drinks and country music. Several of the state park cabins are historic structures built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps.   • Fishing

    The fishing at Lake Murray is excellent and is known for great smallmouth bass fishing.

  • Golfing

    An eight-hole golf course features towering oak trees, tree-lined fairways, strategically placed water hazards and a breathtaking natural waterfall. The course is well-manicured and challenging. Golfers of all ages and abilities are welcomed. A pro shop and practice range are located on-site and individual or group lessons are available.

  • Hiking

    Visitors to the park will enjoy walking through the park's various trails, which offer calm, refreshing views of the lake.

  • Horseback Riding

    At the Lake Murray stable facilities, trail rides are offered every hour on the hour. Hayrides are also available.

  • Off Highway Vehicles

    Lake Murray State Park offers a top-notch ATV area for off-highway vehicles, motorcycles and dirt bikes.

  • Picnicking

    Picnic areas throughout the park provide quaint views of Lake Murray.

  • RVing

    RV users will delight in the full hookups and other amenities offered throughout the park.

  • Tennis

    A tennis court offers a pleasant diversion for visitors to the park.

  • Water Sports

    Lake Murray offers ample opportunities for visitors to engage in a variety of seasonal water sports.


Elephant Rock and Cedar Cove campgrounds and facilities remain open year-round. The Duke's Forest campground closes on November 1 for the winter. All other campgrounds and bathrooms close on December 1 and re-open on March 1. Events happen year-round at Lake Murray State Park, including a Fourth of July fireworks show.
