Overview

There are approximately five miles of sandy beach with China Creek to the south of the park. It is a great place for beach combing or just walking and admiring the expansive view of the beach. Park guests can go fishing and try to catch a big one. Windy days makes for some great wind surfing. Or grab a skim board and skim the beaches. Enjoy picnicking while watching whales, and other wildlife. Humpback whales can be seen out in the ocean. Birders will find a large array of bird species that frequent this coastal shoreline so bring your binoculars. There is also an abundance of native plant life to view. J.C Ponsler donated this land in 1938 in memory of his wife, Muriel. This park is open year-round and there is no fee to use this park. The park is located off the US 101, 16 miles North of Florence.
