Overview

Benches set on a cliff above the beach give you an excellent view of Cumming Creek, wildlife and the rock-pounding waves. From this location, you can watch for whales, see a variety of birds, sea lions and the occasional deer in the creek. Birders should bring their binoculars to view a spectacular array of seabirds congregating around the beaches. The creek is also a great place to look for agates. At low tide you can walk to the south to see a natural cave and tide pools. There are rock formations worth a view here as well as an abundance of native plants. Hiking trails make there way around while the park offers interpretation and interpretive signs. Or hit the beaches and bring your fishing pole and tackle box. There can be good fishing here almost year round. It is located in Newport; west of Eugene. It is open year round and has no fee.
