Overview

This is one of Rhode Island's best saltwater beaches and recreational facility. The State Beach houses two Pavilions in the North and South, 75 picnic tables, hot and cold showers, a large paved parking lot to prevent overcrowding, and a concrete boardwalk with gazebos and an observation tower where guests can get a bird's eye view of the beach. Lifeguards are on duty from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. No animals are allowed. The Park has an expanded beach area, the Scarborough South Complex, formerly referred to as Olivo's and Lido's beach areas, and offer a wide range of beach related activities. Saltwater bathing will continue to be Scarborough's biggest attraction, among others. Guests of all ages can find all kinds of activities. Remember, all trash is carry-in, carry-out. Whether you want to enjoy the surf or just bask in the sun, make the 42-acre Scarborough State Beach your next destination!

Open weekends from May 1st through Memorial Day (weather permitting. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, open 7 days. Hours run from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
