Liberty Falls Trail

Look for the gravel trailhead access road 100 yards before the Liberty Falls campground. The road is clearly marked with a wooden sign. Drive up the short gravel road to the parking area.
A trail register marks the beginning of the trail. Note: This is not the trail to the waterfall at the campground/picnic area.
The trail rises steeply at first, and then follows along a rocky ledge. There are a few short and steep sections of the trail which make for amazing views. Watch your footing as you climb. The trail ends at the highest point along the rocky ledge. Enjoy the superlative views of the Copper River and snowcapped Wrangell Volcanoes. Looking the other direction provides vistas of the Chugach Mountains and a small pond.End your hike at the top, or continue to explore the area by following the informal trail that leads 1/4 mile down
closer to the pond and allows for some more views of the Wrangell Mountains.

Directions

Trailhead is located at mile 24.8 Edgerton Highway. Look for the trail sign and gravel turnoff 100 yards before the entrance to Liberty Falls campground/picnic area.
