Hop on the Linx Bus in Yellowstone

August 9, 2011, 2:57 pm

If you’re looking for an easy, environmentally friendly way to get around Yellowstone National Park, take a ride on the Linx. A new pilot program, the Linx Bus travels around the park and is scheduled to run through October 2nd. Bus lines run from entrance locations and travel in to campgrounds and lodges.

The bus is not a tour, but simply a great way for those with limited travel options to get easy access to all the major parts of the park. A $25 ticket allows riders to board buses up to seven times over two consecutive days at any Ride Linx in Yellowstone bus stops in Yellowstone National Park and at the park’s major gateways.

Old Faithful, Mammoth Hot Springs and Grant Village are just a few locations that visitors can visit by taking the bus. The four major park entrance stops are located at West Yellowstone, Gardiner, Pahaska Tepee and Flagg Ranch. So ditch your car and get out there!

It is also possible to get to Grand Teton National Park on Linx.  Take the Ride Linx in Yellowstone green line bus south from Flagg Ranch to Colter Bay for just $10.  From Colter Bay you can ride the Alltrans park shuttle through Grand Teton National Park and into Jackson Hole.
